Bathroom Training
Can anyone give me advice on puppy bathroom training?
I just got a Chocolate Lab puppy he’s 7 weeks. I understand he’s young and doesn’t understand yet. But he’s pooping and peeing in his crate at night and i keep having to give him a bath. I dont like giving him so many baths, but he just wont stop using the bathroom in his crate. I’ve tried taking away his food and water 3 hours before we go to bed, that didnt work. I’ve tired setting my alarm clock to take him out every 2 hours, that didnt work. For some reason he just has fun using the bathroom in his crate. I dont get it. Thanks in advance.
Do you have the right size crate? It should only be large enough for him to stand up, turn around, and lay down comfortably. If it is too big, they will use one area for a toilet. However, I have a chocolate lab who did they same thing and his crate was the proper size – not too big, not too small. He eventually stopped as he got older.
