Are Hyosungs a joke, or a good alternative to the big name brand sport bikes?

Hyosung are KOREAN… not chinese The factory was an engine production facility for the major four not just Suzuki it made engines that found their way into many Japanese bikes..
They now make an engine based on the SV650 it is NOT a licenced copy but a re engineered engine the 250 is based on the ever popular Yamaha V twin used in the virago the 125 is a GN/ YBR based engine..
Years ago 2007 the bikes were rushed to get ready for the euro market and the shows, paint and finish was flakey and the end product looked amateurish. Since then things have improved.
The problem is the electrics are outsourced and come from india and china, these are the components which are failing and letting the bikes down NOT the mechanicals.
No they don’t perform like the counter parts they are based on nor are they really in the same playing field but they do compare up against the second hand market: Hyosung are on the brink of bringing out two major engines
A 1000cc V twin that is a bigger version of the 650 and a multiple cylinder engine of indeterminate engine capacity, this could lead to parallel twins and other combinations.

They are on the market. They are here to stay. They will be a brand that will earn a following.
