should i teach my 5 month old puppy one obedience command at time?
he sits pretty reliably, but still working on down. should i try to teach more to him, like stay, stand, settle, off, come, etc. or should i teach one at a time?
I think you can teach a 5 month old puppy all sorts of behavoirs. Puppies are like sponges. They have the ability to learn from the get go, you aren’t starting with any unwanted behaviors. No need to just teach one thing at a time, but just spend only a short time on any one thing.
You’ll find your puppy will have silly periods, when he suddenly seems to have forgotten a command…no worry. Just gently remind, or take a step back and ask for an easier response.
Good luck and be sure to have some fun as well…teach games…it’s more fun that way!!!!
