How should I get a big dog that I had for a few years to like a smaller dog that I just got?
I have a big dog that I have had for 6-7 years. I want to purchase a Yorkie. What should I do to make the dogs be friends and not kill each other; just let them kill each other untill they realize that their going to live together, or take it gradually and keep them relativly seperate? I don’t want a dead Yorkie on my hands!
Yorkies are very small dogs and should never be left alone with a large dog no matter how well they get along. The large dog may not mean to hurt the Yorkie, but if they start to play, the big dog may step on it or knock into it.
You do need to introduce them gradually and be VERY careful. One bite and your Yorkie is dead.
